about

An audio road trip from the ocean through the desert to the city.

Minotaur:

The waves hit the shore as the Minotaur drifted in and out of sleep. With the taste of rum on his lips, he lost his grip on reality and slid into the dream. Falling downward he crashed on the tarmac road. Headlights chased him as he swerved and danced on the cold asphalt. The clicking of his hooves was all that was heard as the car drove through him. He questioned whether he was dreaming or in limbo when he saw the flicking of a blue light.
Blue, the map to the stars as she introduced herself, was tied to a tree by a thread around her ankle. She asked to be freed in exchange for a trip to the old man by the swamp who could help him.
He swung his horns and cut the thread. With her tiny hand in his he felt his hooves lift from the ground, the world he was in was getting smaller and further away. As they soared, the wind wistled by his horns, he saw a desert in the distance and blurred city lights expanded at the end of the world. .
Her grip loosened. He broke through the wooden ceiling and found himself in a low lit bar.
The man, old and thin wore a top hat. His shadow was of a spider that swayed slowly in the candlelight. The floor transformed into a web, the old man a spider now spun him into another dream.
Buzzing and spinning in reverb he found himself driving with his lover towards dawn. The humming of the motor vibrated them both in their seats, as they shared a cigarette if only this moment could last forever, if only this moment could last forever. He felt an electrical shock to his chest and he flew out of the car.
Flat on the dirt he found himself on crossroads. Darkness surrounded him. Footsteps echoed around him. Out of the purple smoke, he saw yellow eyes rushing towards him.
Losing control of his body he fell backward.
Blood poured from his side as he approached the concrete jungle. Falling in and out of consciousness the last night was just a kiss away.
Visions of his lover filled his mind. As he felt his final breath he heard the ocean and saw the waves.

Inspired by a dream, a book and a tv show.
